Contracts Admin

Chesapeake shipyard in need of experienced admin for the contracts department. Multifaceted administrative duties. Extensive interaction with military ship personnel, vendors, company and other employees. Will update and distribute contracts and policies to other departments and perform additional admin duties as needed. Must have excellent communication skills and ability to interact professionally with individuals in positions of authority. Must be a US Citizen.

Requirements:

  • Must be proficient in Word, Excel, Access and Outlook
  • Have 2+ years office Admin experience in a shipyard or ship repair environment. (please no firewatch or skilled trade)
  • Must also pass a background check and drug testing for consideration.

Location: South Norfolk area

Hours: 7 AM – 4 PM.

Salary: $10-12 per hour

Data Entry/Logistics Specialist

Electrical supplier in need of an experienced logistics specialist to start immediately. Duties include but are not limited to: contacting vendors, inputting data for expediting requests and purchase orders, calculating prices and researching issues, maintain records & track shipments.

Export Booking Specialist

Norfolk based Shipping company in immediate need of booking specialists.

Position duties include but are not limited to:

  • Make new Bookings and modify existing bookings as per customer’s request
  • Research, follow-up and resolve customer problems
  • Communicate and follow-up with customers, overseas agents and internal departments
  • Conduct “root cause” analysis to find out what caused customer’s problem
  • Reduce service failures and costs providing accurate information
  • Provide information to customer related to sailing schedules, equipment availability, routing, rates, etc
  • Rate bookings using information provided by customers as well as utilizing our rate retrieval systems.
  • Assist customers with contract rates and tariff rule questions

Requirements:

  • High level of analytical and problem solving abilities.
  • Excellent communication skills. (Verbal and written)
  • Excellent phone etiquette and proven customer service abilities.
  • Proficient computer skills to include basic Microsoft applications (Excel, Outlook, Word)
  • College degree preferred.
  • Knowledge of world geography is preferred.

Hours: 8-5, 8:30-5:30 or 9-6 (You decide your shift)

Salary: $13-15 per hour

Junior Accountant

CPA firm in Lynnhaven is looking for an admin with an accounting degree who is looking for entry-level position into accounting. Answer phones, greet clients and provide clients with software updates. Answer emails and client inquiries, working with and under direction of senior staff. Will be working client accounts posting transactions into QuickBooks and learning firm’s procedures for business tax compliance.

Individual must have strong QuickBooks skills, data entry 8,000 kph w/excellent accuracy. Must have a degree in Accounting or degree with accounting concentration and at least one year of accounting experience. (Sorry, debt collections not accepted)

Call Counselor

Previous experience in a healthcare setting highly preferred 

Call Counselor:

Primary function is to work with patients who are contacting the Foundation for financial assistance. Must have excellent communication and customer service skills. This includes a pleasant professional voice and excellent grammar to explain the purpose of the program, procedures, and process for the application. Answer incoming calls to the program and assist callers with all questions, requests, and concerns. Data entry of intake information and provide the caller with professionalism and integrity each and every call.  Confidentiality of information and program guidelines learned through employment with the foundation must be strictly maintained.  Must have excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills, both orally and in writing, often interacting with diverse education and experience levels.  Administrative skills/duties are detailed and will be explained further.

Must have a minimum high school or  equivalent education

Must have minimum of two years professional work experience

Must have accurate 45 wpm and 8,000 kph

Must be able to talk and type at the same time

Must have competent skill using MS Office Word-Excel-Outlook applications

Salary: $10.00 per hour as a temp

Location: Hampton, VA

Hours: 8:30—5:00 Monday – Thu, 8:30 –4:00 Friday
